This week I did something I never thought I would do, but it wasn’t without push from my 10-year-old son. My son (Seth) has been trying to get me to start a YouTube channel for some time now, and I kept making excuses for why I didn’t want to do one. My excuses were, people wont want to watch me, people don’t need to hear what I have to say, and I’m just not that experienced as other “YouTubers” out there. This year I made it my goal to stop making excuses (in many areas of my life). If I have something I want to do or try, then I will do/try it. Many people that know me in real life tell me how funny, talented, and creative I am, so why not share it with everyone! I love making people laugh, teaching people something new, and most importantly I love showing off my creations for the world to see. So… I decided to not let any of the little voices in my head to hold me back and I started my Youtube channel, “My Sew Quilty Life.” My hope for the channel is to show new tips and trips that I have come across and have helped me in my quilting journey, free patterns I have created, as well as others created, and just talk all things quilty. I’m so excited to get started on this new journey and hope you will join me. I plan to film a few videos this weekend and I cannot wait to share them with you. If you have an idea or suggestion for what you would like to see, let me know and I will add it to my list. I also want to think all of you for your support. My son was so happy when I told him that I finally started the channel and he looks at it everyday to tell me how many subscribers/views I have. Pretty silly really. This is a HUGE step for me so here’s to hoping I don’t freeze as soon as the camera turns on! And… if I do, just laugh with me!
