Thank you for your interest in working with My Sew Quilty Life as a Quilt Technical Editor! This is an hourly independent contractor position with project based work throughout the year. Our Technical Editors play an important role in helping ensure our quilt patterns are accurate, consistent, easy to follow, and ready for publication.
We are looking for experienced quilters with a strong understanding of quilt construction, pattern writing, quilt math, cutting instructions, diagrams, and the overall flow of a quilt pattern. Attention to detail is extremely important, but we are also looking for someone who can look at a pattern as a whole and identify opportunities to make the instructions clearer and easier for our customers to understand.
As part of the application process, you will be asked to review the sample pattern provided and identify any errors, inconsistencies, or areas for improvement you find. We want to see anything and everything you notice!
The sample is a simple pattern created specifically for this application and intentionally contains errors. It is provided only as an editing exercise and is not intended to be used to make a project.
